Why it’s so hard to find birth care that fits you
Many expectant mothers feel torn:
You want a birth that reflects your faith and values, not just another hospital routine
You’re asking: “Will I feel safe and informed for my baby and me?”
You worry: “Will I really be supported, will my voice be heard—prenatally, during birth, postpartum—or feel rushed or overlooked?”
If you settle for care that doesn’t resonate with your heart, you risk feeling unheard, underserved, or pressured into choices that don’t honor who you are.

I had friends who used The Mother's House for their birth and I heard great things. I always knew I wanted a homebirth and as soon as I met Ashley, I knew she would be a great fit for our family! The genuine care and relationship that was built with us meant so much! Our preferences were prioritized without sacrificing safety. I highly recommend The Mother's House! I felt very comfortable and safe throughout my pregnancy and birth. I will 100% be using The Mother's house again!

NEEDS TO BE SHORTENED: I found Ashley when I was searching online for a Christian midwife. I knew I needed someone who was strong in their faith to help me through the labor and delivery. I was nervous because this was my first homebirth (3rd child) but Ashley and her assistant Lori were amazing! My previous two deliveries were in the hospital and not how I had envisioned so I am fortunate to have found them. Ashley is so knowledgeable in every single aspect of pregnancy and birth. I constantly had questions due to my anxieties, and she would always have a solid evidence-based answer that made me feel confident in my decision to birth at home. It was so relieving to have a provider who was holistic and shared the same views as me.
Ashley made herself available to me throughout the entire process and I never had an issue getting hold of her. When I went into labor, I made sure to keep her updated on what was going on and when I needed her to be there. I was nervous that I would deliver without her due to timing, but everything worked out perfectly. When Ashley and Lori arrived, they made sure to maintain the quiet environment and not disturb my labor. There was never any push for unnecessary intervention. At the same time, they made sure baby was responding well and that I was healthy by periodically checking baby’s heart rate and my blood pressure. They always asked me for permission before doing anything.
When contractions were getting tough, Ashley maintained her calm demeanor and was able to keep me focused. Both Lori and Ashley were very compassionate and sensitive to all my needs. They were also very flexible when I changed my mind about having a waterbirth. They moved all their supplies when I wanted to deliver in a different part of the house. It was more inconvenient for them, but they never complained and did it with a smile. I never felt like I was a burden. I felt very loved and cared for throughout the whole process. They were very maternal and it was like I had two moms there with me. Lori held my hand when I needed her and made me feel safe.
Delivery went great and Ashley guided me as necessary. She was prepared for any sort of emergency (though thankfully there weren’t any). I felt very confident that if something were to happen, they had the tools and knowledge to deal with it. After delivery, they cooked for me, made me a hot cup of tea, and tucked me into bed. They cleaned up everything and ensured baby and I were happy and healthy before they left. I have only positive things to say about Ashley and Lori. If God were to bless me with another baby, I would immediately choose them again to be my midwives.
Your Questions, Answered

Research shows that planned homebirth with a family who has been prepared and has the support of a skilled provider can be a safe and deeply satisfying option for many families. Just as importantly, we believe birth should feel calm, informed, and supported — not rushed or fear-driven. Throughout your care, we prioritize informed decision -making and physiological design. We discuss any concerns openly and honestly along the way.

While most homebirths progress without concern, sometimes a transfer to the hospital is the best or safest choice. If that becomes necessary, we remain calm, supportive, and focused on helping you navigate the transition with confidence and clarity—if the oppurtunity allows we come with you to the hospital and transition to more of a doula/advocate support role. Our goal is always a healthy mom, a healthy baby, and informed, compassionate care every step of the way.
-
Yes. Many first-time parents choose homebirth because they want a more personal, relationship-based approach to care. We take time to answer questions, provide education, and help families feel prepared and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.
